Residence permit in Spain
Non-Lucrative – a residence permit intended for financially independent individuals. It does not grant the right to work or do business in the country.
Main conditions:
- Minimum income: for the main applicant: 400% of the IPREM (minimum income indicator in Spain) – from €28,880 per year. For each additional family member: 100% of the IPREM (€600 per month or €7,200 per year).
- Income can be confirmed by: dividends or investment income, savings in a bank account, income from renting out housing or a pension.
- A residence permit for financially independent individuals is initially issued for 1 year.
- After that, it can be extended for 2 years, provided that all requirements are met (financial solvency, health insurance, etc.).
After 5 years of residence in Spain, you can apply for a permanent residence permit (PR), and after 10 years - for citizenship.
This type of residence permit is suitable for freelancers, business owners and employees of foreign companies who receive a stable income and conduct their work online. The Digital Nomad residence permit allows you to obtain a residence permit not only for a digital nomad, but also for his family.

- Have been working for at least 3 months before applying
- The activity must be conducted outside of Spain
Family:
You can bring your family with you. The main condition is that you must have additional savings for your spouse: €1,036 and for each subsequent family member: €345.
Validity of the residence permit: issued for up to 3 years with the possibility of extension.
