Congratulations on receiving your Permanent Residence Permit for 10 years!

The permanent residence permit, the Hungarian permanent residence cards and the lakcímkártyas have arrived and now we can tell you about it.

We knew that the Hungarian migration law would change at the beginning of 2024. In December 2023, we immediately contacted all clients we had been assisting with business in Hungary since 2020 and strongly advised them to apply for permanent residency under the previous law as soon as possible, as many of them have adult children (students).

Several businessmen and their families, under our guidance, urgently began to collect the necessary package of documents to apply for a national residence permit in Hungary.

In the process of applying for a residence permit in Hungary, we encountered unexpected difficulties. At one point, the website of the Migration Office stopped working, probably due to an influx of applicants trying to submit documents under the previous law. We and our clients had to reformulate the document packages and submit them in person to the Migration Office, where there were huge queues.

On December 30, 2023, the website of the Migration Service started working again, but the previously closed cases were not saved. This meant that everything had to be submitted again, now online. From December 30 to December 31, we literally did not leave the office to submit all the applications on time.

The date for the submission of biometric data was set at the time of the first personal submission of documents. As a result, some clients had to interrupt their winter vacations in Bali and Thailand to fly to Hungary in January to undergo this procedure. Despite all the difficulties, it was worth it – all the procedures were completed on time and the clients were able to maintain the possibility of obtaining a residence permit under the previous rules.

On March 1, 2024, our clients began receiving requests for additional documents, some a little later. Together with our clients, we promptly prepared and sent responses to all additional requests. Already on April 23, 2024, the first positive decision on permanent residence was received. The permanent residence card was received on April 30 and the lakcímkártya on June 5. Other families received positive decisions on May 7, 2024, permanent residence cards on May 23, etc.

As a result, several businessmen and their family members, including their adult children, all citizens of the Russian Federation, whom we have been accompanying on business since 2020, have successfully obtained 10-year Hungarian permanent residence permits. The next goal is to obtain Hungarian citizenship.

In fact, in 2 months, in March and April (in January and February the Migration Office was not working), our clients received positive decisions and permanent residence cards for 10 years.
